This section provides a detailed overview of Search Engine Optimization techniques that are used to gain better positioning in your Google, Yahoo, Bing, and other search engine rankings. We’ll go into detail speaking about the pros and cons of each method, evaluating the positive and/or negative results that can occur. White Hat and Black Hat SEO are two very different things, but you can accomplish a lot through organic SEO strategies and distributing your own unique content throughout the internet. The only way to make informed decisions is to read up and be aware of both sides of the coin, so we’ll talk about White Hat and Black Hat techniques such as link building, social media, content writing, keyword research, and a whole lot more.
The focus of SEO is to make sure that you make the most out of each visit your website receives from search engine spiders. These spiders are automated programs that search through the internet and examine every web page they find for the search engine database. Through proper SEO you will make sure these spiders visit all of your pages, posts and links, picking up as many keywords and descriptions that will help them identify your website with similar search terms for rankings. And, the final focus of all SEO is to make sure you get your well written, unique content, indexed and ranked in search engine results. Without solid on-page SEO practices and quality content management, you will not see the results in competitive market places. So remember that “content is king” and you’ll need it to stay competitive and reach first page rankings on Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Their algorithms are just getting more and more stringent on content quality, with duplicate/scraped content site being de-indexed and banned from many keyword results. Stay away from those networks when building links for your site, it will not benefit you in the long run.
For new websites you may spend up to 6 months practicing link building, social media integration, and content building before you really see any significant traffic. If your website has aged beyond a year old, the results will come much faster. This is not necessarily an indicator of page rank, but any site with a PR 1 or higher has set some foundation of trust and authority with Google. Make sure to submit your sitemaps, finish on-page SEO, and start the social media right away, whether your site is aged or brand new. Link building is progressive, viral, and hopefully natural over time and you will see a ramped effect toward success in the SERPs.
